Milena Govich

 

Milena Govich (Serbian born on October 29, 1976) is an American actor, director, singer, dancer, and musician most well-known for her role as NYPD Detective Nina Cassady on the television series Law & Order.



 



 Education and early life



 Govich was born in Norman, Cleveland County, Oklahoma. Dr. Bruce Michael Govich who died in 1998 and Dr. Marilyn Green Govich[2] were her parents. Marilyn currently teaches voice and Bruce was employed as a professor at the University of Oklahoma. Her father was Serbian and her mother is of Scottish and English heritage. The aunt of her, Milica Govich, is also an actress and has appeared on Broadway TV, on Broadway, and in film.



 



 Milena was a graduate of Norman High School in 1995 as the valedictorian of her class. Following her academic family she graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma as valedictorian. In this instance she earned the double degree of premedical and performance sciences, along with the minor of dancing and violin. Govich relocated to New York City after graduation to pursue an acting career.
