Emily Procter

 

Emily Mallory Procter (born October 8th in 1968) is an American actress and activist. She played Ainsley Hayes on the NBC political drama The West Wing (2000-2002; 2006) and Det. Calleigh Duquesne on the CBS police procedural drama CSI: Miami (2002-2012).



 



 Early life



 Procter was born on the 8th of October 1968. William Procter, an obstetrician, adopted her as an infant . He also adopted Barbara Jones, a volunteer worker. She was raised in Raleigh. She was only three years old at the time her parents divorced. She is the older sister of Whit, who is also adopted.



 



 Ravenscroft School was where Procter went to school in Raleigh. While at East Carolina University, Procter joined the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. Procter worked as a anchor for the news channel WNCT in Greenville, North Carolina. Procter eventually earned diplomas in dance and journalism.
